Anchor your space with this hand-knotted wool area rug, crafted to bring rich texture, traditional character, and lasting style to a living room, dining room, bedroom, or formal interior. Adorn your home with a timeless hand-knotted area rug that seamlessly blends centuries-old heritage with refined luxury. Hand-knotted with an extraordinary density of 300 knots per square inch (KPSI), this grand 10'3" x 14'2" Pak Persian rug showcases the intricate artistry of fine craftsmanship at its highest level. Woven from a lush blend of quality wool and fine silk over a silk foundation, it features a classic Persian medallion layout rendered in a rich tapestry of red, deep navy, ivory, turquoise, mint. The addition of silk gives the pile a luminous sheen that catches light gracefully across the room, while its silk foundation delivers strong structure, flexibility, and longevity. Designed to anchor large living spaces or grand dining rooms with regal elegance, this rug offers a sumptuous underfoot feel, rich visual depth, and the enduring quality of a lasting statement piece. With its detailed pattern, comfortable pile, and versatile palette, this handmade rug works beautifully as a living room rug, dining room rug, bedroom rug, hallway runner, or elegant interior accent for polished home décor. Note: The color of your rug may appear slightly different in person than it does on screen. This happens because device displays tend to oversaturate color, and because the pile's height causes it to catch and reflect light differently depending on the direction it's brushed, which can shift how a shade reads from one angle to the next. We've done our best to photograph this rug in a way that reflects its true tone, and we'd recommend watching the video below for a more accurate sense of its colors before you order. If you're still unsure, feel free to give us a call and we're happy to walk you through it.
Story Behind the Art: Hand-knotted rugs are one of Pakistan’s most important cottage and small-scale industries, with weaving roots that reach back as early as the 11th century during the period of Mughal rule. Skilled craftsmen developed the ability to produce many rug styles using widely recognized traditional motifs, including guls, medallions, paisleys or botehs, traceries, and geometric designs arranged in countless combinations. Pak Persian rugs are especially valued for their dense construction, often defined by a 16 by 18 KPSI count that yields more than 288 KPSI, as well as the familiar 300 KPSI quality known for exceptional durability in high-traffic areas. Originally developed during a period when access to certain Iranian rug imports became limited in the 1970s, these hand knotted wool rugs have remained popular because of their superior weaving, refined craftsmanship, and wide variety of design choices.
